Dorothy's bees are buzzing again.

Let's hope for a good honey crop.

Photographs of CVF as summer comes

A weaned bawling heifer and a steer
The horses don't know what to think.
Despite all the rain, the gardens thrives.
And more Wood Ducks on the way.

Another trip to Countryside Harness

Abner has a new hitch for his 6 girls.
I just had to give it a try.
He had just finished a new marathon harness.
Above is the bridle.
Below, the complete harness with lines.

Flashback: 32 years living at CVF

As you can see from this photo, nothing in life stays the same.
One must adapt to what comes along.
The trick is to identify the opportunities when they appear.

"Heaven's Gate"

Thanks George for this photograph of "Heaven's Gate" as you call it.
It is a beautiful and inspiring view of the farm.
Even Jack always wants to stop to have a look.

More horse birthdays at CVF

On the 16th Jack turned 6. He sure has matured since he first arrived.
Laddie is 9 today. Hard to believe that he was born here at the farm.
We all seem to be getting older.

Great weather for ducks.

Spring is such a great time of year at the farm.

Dorothy's nursing friends gave her this plant 6 years ago.

Cold frames & rain water.

Lots of good plants growing in the cold frames.

A great year for rhubarb at the farm.

A cool spring, and a bucket load from my VQA pile has made the difference.

Karen visits Christieview Farm

Have at look at Karen's website to see her visit.
She has a great website, and gets lots of visitors.

Flashback: 32 years at Christieview Farm

At the end of May I have lived at CVF 32 years.
What a pleasure to be the steward of this great section of land.
Every day is full of work, but lots of beauty and joy.

More eggs in the middle of our bonfire pile.

Marion tells me these are Mallard Duck eggs.
The hen is sitting patiently on the clutch.

A slow spring, but the flowers linger.

Flashback: Planting last year.

In 2010 we first planted on April 5th. with lots of help.
In 2011 we first planted on April 30th, and even then it was too soon.

"Sunny" in the greenhouse.

It's been a good year for starting things in our greenhouse.
